Ford Model A Pickup Restoration December 2002

Since some riveted components on the backing plate are in a bad shape, I replaced them. I modified some spare parts because they did not look like an original one.

This are the newly riveted parts. To protect it from rust, I electrolytic galvanized these parts. The rest of the plate will be sandblasted later. For riveting, you have to heat one side of the rivet red-glowed an bring the end of the rivet in the appropriate shape.

On the left hand side are the backing plate for the rear axle and on the right are those for the front axle.
